Dr. Lindsey Fitzgerald, DDS
Dentist
Dr. Lindsey Fitzgerald is proud to provide compassionate, comprehensive dental care in the town she calls home. After earning her undergraduate degree in biology with minors in chemistry and health humanities, she went on to receive her dental degree from the Indiana University School of Dentistry.
Lindsey's journey into dentistry began during a summer break in college when she worked as a dental assistant for her childhood dentist. That hands-on experience opened her eyes to the unique blend of science, artistry, and personal connection that dentistry offers.
One of Dr. Fitzgerald’s favorite aspects of dentistry is the opportunity to build long-term relationships with her patients. She enjoys watching children grow, celebrating life’s milestones alongside families, and becoming a trusted part of their health journey. She also finds joy in the artistic side of dentistry, designing smiles and restoring teeth with care and precision.
Outside the practice, Dr. Fitzgerald is in the joyful chaos of the "busy mom" season, often found at local ball fields cheering on her kids. She enjoys running, camping, traveling with her family, and getting lost in a good audiobook or true crime podcast. A fun fact about Dr. Fitzgerald: she participated in a dental mission trip to Haiti in 2014, deepening her passion for service through dentistry.
Janet
Registered Dental Hygienist
With over 35 years of experience in dental hygiene, Janet brings both deep expertise and a compassionate touch to her work at Fitzgerald Family Dentistry. A proud graduate of the University of Louisville School of Dentistry (Class of 1990), Janet is dedicated to helping patients achieve and maintain lifelong oral health.
Janet is passionate about making each patient feel comfortable and cared for. Her favorite part of the job is connecting personally with patients, many of whom she has seen grow through generations, now bringing in their children and grandchildren. She values teamwork, lifelong learning, and the camaraderie she shares with her colleagues.
Since joining Dr. Fitzgerald’s team seven years ago, Janet has continued her mission to make every smile healthier and brighter. Her motivation for entering the field was simple: a love for helping people and a belief that everyone deserves a beautiful smile.
Outside of the office, Janet enjoys traveling with her husband, boating, cheering on the University of Louisville Cardinals, and watching her growing family thrive. A fun fact that surprises many—she comes from a family of seven siblings!
Denise
Registered Dental Hygienist
Denise has been a valued member of the dental community since 1997, bringing nearly three decades of experience and a personal touch to every patient interaction. A proud alumna of the University of Louisville, she followed in the footsteps of her mother, also a dental hygienist. Her childhood dentist inspired her to pursue a career in the field.
Known for her warm demeanor and ability to connect with patients on a personal level, Denise finds joy in building lasting relationships and creating a comfortable, caring environment. Her passion for oral health and her commitment to patient care are evident in everything she does.
When she’s not at the office, Denise enjoys an active lifestyle—playing pickleball, exploring the outdoors through kayaking, and spending quality time with family and friends. Her story reflects both a legacy and a love for dental hygiene that spans generations.
Sara
Registered Dental Hygienist
Sara brings years of dedication, compassion, and clinical expertise to her role as a registered dental hygienist at Fitzgerald Family Dentistry. A graduate of the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 1999, Sara began her career in dentistry even earlier, as a dental assistant in 1996 while attending college. It was during those early years that she discovered her passion for preventive care and patient education.
As a hygienist, Sara is committed to helping patients achieve lifelong oral health. She provides thorough cleanings, evaluates periodontal health, takes diagnostic x-rays, and ensures patients understand how to care for their teeth and gums at home. She also assists in treatment planning, medical history review, and sterilization protocols—all with a strong emphasis on creating a comfortable, welcoming environment.
For Sara, Fitzgerald Family Dentistry feels like home. “The patients and team become like family,” she says, and her friendly, approachable nature reflects that belief.
Outside of the office, Sara enjoys reading and has a unique hobby of collecting vintage milk glass. She and her husband also share a fun goal: visiting every Major League Baseball stadium across the country.
Tayla
Expanded Duties Dental Assistant
Tayla has been a dedicated member of the Fitzgerald Family Dentistry team since 2019, bringing enthusiasm, precision, and a positive attitude to everything she does. A graduate of MedQuest College, Tayla began her dental career with a pediatric externship before finding her home at Fitzgerald Family Dentistry, where she has grown her skills and built strong connections with both patients and her team.
As an expanded duties dental assistant, Tayla’s responsibilities include placing fillings, crafting temporary crowns, applying sealants, taking impressions, assisting with lab work, and maintaining sterilization protocols. Her favorite part of the job is the kindness of the patients and the strong camaraderie among the team, where laughter is a daily part of the workday.
Tayla’s interest in the dental field started early and was solidified by a friend’s positive experience in the profession. Outside the office, she enjoys staying active through workouts and has a unique talent for braiding hair. A fun fact? She’s a turtle enthusiast!
Jessica
Expanded Duties Dental Assistant
Jessica has been a valued expanded duties dental assistant at Fitzgerald Family Dentistry since 2018, bringing warmth, humor, and compassion to every patient interaction. After earning her certification from MedQuest College, Jessica transitioned from a five-year career in the hospital setting to pursue her true calling—dentistry. Her passion for helping others, combined with her love for people and bright smiles, made it a perfect fit.
Jessica’s favorite part of her role is helping patients feel at ease. She understands that a dental visit can be intimidating, and she’s dedicated to creating a supportive, judgment-free environment where everyone feels welcome and cared for. For Jessica, working at Fitzgerald Family Dentistry doesn’t feel like work; it feels like spending the day with friends.
Outside the office, Jessica enjoys being outdoors with her family and dogs, going for walks, and listening to her favorite podcasts. She also enjoys crocheting, reading, and—most of all—laughing. A fun fact? Jessica is a proud mom of two, a dog lover, and she’s married to a police officer.
Brenda
Office Manager
Brenda has been a dedicated presence in the dental field since 1981, beginning her journey immediately after high school with a passion for dentistry that has only grown stronger over the years. She joined Fitzgerald Family Dentistry in 2016, where she continues to bring warmth, experience, and a helping hand to both patients and coworkers every day.
As office manager, Brenda’s role goes far beyond paperwork; she’s the welcoming face and dependable support system for anyone who walks through the door. Her favorite part of the job? Simply being there for others and doing whatever she can to make each visit smooth and stress-free.
Outside the office, Brenda enjoys spending quality time with her husband, Denny, their sweet pup, Angel, and her beloved granddaughter, Brae. She cherishes visits with her daughters, enjoys listening to live music, and has a heart for helping people in any way she can.
A fun fact? Brenda is also known for her love of baking, which is just another way she shares joy with the people around her.
Libby
Registered Dental Hygienist
Elizabeth has been keeping smiles healthy and bright at Fitzgerald Family Dentistry since 2016. A graduate of the University of Louisville with a Bachelor of Science degree, Elizabeth jumped right into the dental field after college and never looked back. From taking radiographs to making sure teeth are sparkling clean, she’s passionate about answering patient questions and making every visit feel relaxed and comfortable.
For Elizabeth, one of the best parts of being a dental hygienist is the opportunity to build genuine relationships with patients. “I love chatting and getting to know everyone and their families,” she says, and it shows.
Elizabeth was drawn to dental hygiene for its balance of flexibility and purpose. “It’s so nice to work an 8-to-5 where I’m able to help people with their health and still be off on the weekends with my family.”
Outside the office, Elizabeth can usually be found outdoors with her daughters and their golden retriever, Winry, or their cat, Ash. Whether they’re splashing in a creek, hiking through the woods, or dancing in the living room, she brings her joyful energy to everything she does. A lover of music, art, and nature, Elizabeth finds creative joy in sidewalk chalk masterpieces and popsicle stick crafts with her kids.
A fun fact: Elizabeth’s dad is a beekeeper, so her home is always stocked with fresh local honey!
